What a shitty rotten day

Just one of those days, I guess. I sat an exam on American cinema (three books, some 900 pages all in all), a topic that was interesting enough as far as genre studies was concerned but that turned into a nightmare when I had to write about the emergence of the "major independents" and the narrative aspects of New Hollywood Cinema and Raiders of the Lost Arc with regard to classical Hollywood narrative. Have mercy. I didn't really know enough about anything, really, although when I read my answers before handing in the papers they seemed very academic in a way. At least I've learnt to bullshit twaddle my way through university although I would have still preferred to have actually known something. Eight credits worth of points bringing my final mark down - it's especially depressing since I have, for some strange reason, already left most of my not-so-good marks to be included in the intermediate studies. I know that in the grand scheme of things one NAMS final mark does not mean anything, but I can still be PO'd somewhat annoyed, can't I? Exams like this make me think that I am just not able to understand or remember anything worthwhile and that all my work is to no avail.

And the interview is coming up. I have the weekend to think about what I will tell them and prepare myself for some of the most obvious questions ("why do you want to come here; why did you drop out of your first university; what are your future plans?") Actually, if I don't get in, I was thinking I could apply for the EU Commission traineeship. Today I also came across a localization QA tester position in Montreal which could be interesting, albeit not exactly what I'm looking for.

I don't really believe that the interview will take two hours in all. If they have 50 people to interview, that would be 100 hrs, which in turn would make over two weeks, not even counting any lunch or wee breaks, discussion, paperwork etc. But we'll see - in a week I will be all the wiser again.

Two more days and I'm off to Sweden, Denmark, Germany and France. It will be sweet.

There, there. *pat pat*

Saa sitä olla jokseenkin ärsyyntynyt. Tokihan.

A man with many aspirations, kai sitä kääntäjänä on enemmän töitä kuin säveltäjänä. Olettaisin. Yleensä järkiperäiset syyt uppoaa parhaiten.
