GinG:CCinC: Day to Day
Minotaur and Hare, The Prom, Cheltenham
- Every time I eat a Double Decker I feel slightly guilty, because it's like I'm indulging myself in a sinful, wrong, violent drama of gorging on a delicious devil child spawned by the unholy marriage of a Lion bar and Mars bar. Cadbury has a devil put aside for me.
- The beauty of Cheltenham is hard to capture on digital film. It is a beautiful town, but its allure makes sense only as a whole - it becomes more than the sum of its parts. I plan to climb up the surrounding hills and take a photo of the town from above. I believe it will make a nice picture.
- Today I managed to utter a half-decent fine-thanks-and-how-are-you. It came out semi-automatically, not without a trace of conscious effort but still easily enough for me to let it pass as a successful pleasantry. I'm getting there.
- I'm hooked on the strangest shows, but I blame the times I actually manage to watch TV. When I get up in the morning and trickle down the stairs to the basement and my kitchen, Ultimate Big Brother is on. The last ever BB series in the UK features some of the most memorable housemates from previous years. I only recognise Brian, who won the only series of UK BB that they showed in Finland. The runner-up that year was Jade Goody, who, as you of course remember, died of cancer last year. When I get home, on a bad day I follow the Weakest Link, on a good day it's Restoration Road Show. Those battered, old family heirlooms, dusty coats of arms, beheaded porcelain figurines and stapled-together pieces of crown pottery make me all happy inside. QI makes me happy as well, because after I get up to my room, I can watch all the episodes I want on Youtube. And as I'm in the UK, I can also watch Grand Designs Channel 4 VoD (In this show, nothing is normal and everything's absolutely outrageous. Even when you think they have normal construction project coming up, they suddenly decide to build everything five stories below ground level, make a house look like a gothic mansion or use £2000 on a single water tap just because it's apparently what they have always wanted). On
Wednesday Tuesday, This Is England '86 starts. If you haven't seen the original film, you can watch it here. It's a brilliant movie, well worth seeing and highly recommendable! - Simon Pegg is coming to the festival. Joy. I also only recently realised who Dawn French ("They have come up with a brand new low-fat communion wafer... They've called it I can't believe it's not Jesus" LOLZ) Carol Klein and Phil Jupitus are. Exciting guests we'll be having.

hyviä nauruja! mun suosikki on toki toi öylättijuttu. :D
Samainen oli myös oma suosikkini, sillä itse vitsin lisäksi kohtauksen jatko toimii erittäin hyvin. "So what you told me can't've been a joke, 'cause I didn't laugh."
pettämätöntä logiikkaa. :D
